Etch-A-Sketch

It was just released to the press that the creator of Etch-A-Sketch, André Cassagnes, died two weeks ago at the age of 86.
I remember as a kid passing many a dull airplane ride playing on pocket Etch-A-Sketch(es).

Sketchbook Project 2013

Any who follow me on Instagram will know that this year I have participated in the 2013 Sketchbook Project, an annual project based out of Brooklyn, NY.
To summarize briefly, everyone participating in the project is sent one sketchbook. The books are filled out by each artist, altered, completed, and then sent back to Brooklyn.

Today I sent mine back, I am happy to say (the final postage date was tomorrow..).
I owe a huge thank you to a friend, Joanna Labriola, who generously helped my bind up my book at the last moment. It turned out beautifully, and I never could have achieved anything remotely like it by myself! The process photos of binding the book will be posted up in a few days!

City of Craft!

I'm tabling at City of Craft this year and I'm very excited about it! It is this Saturday and Sunday, December 8th - 9th. There's going to be lots of great vendors there - lots of chances to buy your holiday presents locally! Try out a Buy Local Christmas ;)

Thank You!

This is belated but I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to visit me on sunday at Canzine! It was such a fun event and it was so nice to meet so many new amazing people and catch up with the old I haven't seen since grad.

Bunnies & Blooms

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I have been absent for a bit, I've been caught up in the post-grad job hunt :s
Recently I have been working on a lot of patterns. Normally, usually, I don't draw rabbits (because so many of my friends do and it seemed a bit like copying them) but I was doodling about a month ago and rabbits resulted! I've turned them into patterns and hope to have them made into wrapping paper or use them in book binding in the near future. For any of you planning to attend Canzine this year, look forward to some bunny wrapping paper ;)

Steam Whistle Show - Down the Rabbit Hole

Hello Bonjour!

Anyone in Paris this coming October? (I wish I were!) Because if so, you should stop by FANZINES! at The Marguerite Duras Public Library.

I sent a couple zines to Paris to be a part of this zine exhibition - very exciting! The festival celebrates zines and self-published books, and is organized by Papier Gaché. The zines will be exhibited for three weeks in Paris and then will become part of the permanent collection of the Public Library for anyone to see!

The festival runs from October 17th through to November 4th (2012).
